New services due to covid-19

Early Summer Book Relief Program - Due to an unexpected early Summer SBLC is offering families free children's books. Click below to apply for a free summer literacy support pack! Included will be picture books for families to read together as well as personal books for children to begin to build their home libraries.

Drive-Through Literacy  - Starting 3/30/2020 - South Baldwin Literacy Council Presents Drive-Through Literacy! Hosted this coming Monday and Tuesday, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

SBLC will be giving out a free picture book and bear to families with children. No need to register or call ahead. All are welcome while supplies last! One book and bear per family.

We ask that you please stay in your vehicles - this will be a drive through service.

Home school Help and Coaching  - Starting 3/30/2020 - School shut down and social distancing has lead to a dramatic increase of parents who are now tasked with homeschooling children for the first time. Give SBLC a call from 9 am - 12 pm, Monday through Wednesday, for Home School Help and Coaching! SBLC's Allison Smith, who has 20+ years of homeschooling experience, wants to support families through the process (251) 943-7323

Programs and educational services offered

The South Baldwin Literacy Council offers free educational services. We are located in Foley Alabama, and are currently offering GED tutoring, ESL classes and a variety of educational services and tutoring programs for youth.

After School Youth Tutoring Program-1 on 1 and group tutoring after school for help with homework and or math and reading.

Summer Reading Program - Each Summer SBLC offers a summer reading program for youth.

Learn to Earn  one on one instruction and

workshops on resume building, job interview skills, budgets, job searching assistance and coaching. 

GED Preparation Program -  GED Ready Assessments and individualized one on one tutoring.

In School Youth Tutoring Program -South Baldwin Literacy Council tutors work with our local schools to provide in school support to students who need support in reading and math.

English as a Second Language Classes - We

have 4 levels of ESL classes that range from Beginner to Advanced Conversation. Check out our Calendar for our class schedule.

Adult Basic Education - Individualized tutoring

and workshops to help students reach their learning goals.

U.S. Citizenship Preparation - Instruction provided for the United States Citizenship Exam.

Drivers License Preparation -  One on One or group instruction to take the written portion of the Alabama Drivers's license exam.

TOFEL Preparation -  Classes to prepare for the TOFEL English language ability of non-native English language speakers test.

Computer Class -  One on One or group instruction on computer literacy. Topics include Emails, Microsoft Word, Power Point and more!
