MEET OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

David Lee
President
David joined the South Baldwin Literacy Council as a volunteer over eight years ago. Previously, he taught courses in Georgia State University's MBA Program and retired as the CEO of a publicly traded corporation. David contributes to our community through various avenues including serving on the Board of Directors for the Friends of Orange Beach Public Library, as Treasurer for Gulf Coast Athletics, and as an active member of the Gulf Shores Kiwanis Club. He enjoys skiing in his free time and currently lives in Orange Beach, AL with his wife, Ellen.

Erin Kaiser
Board Member
Erin, a Baldwin County native, serves on the South Baldwin Literacy Council's Board of Directors. Growing up, Erin was immersed in the vacation rental, property management, and real estate sales as her father founded Kaiser Realty, Inc. Now, she serves as a partner in Kaiser Sothebys International Realty. Throughout her career, she has served in various leadership roles including Director of Sales and Director of Catering. Her comprehensive knowledge of Baldwin County, extensive social network, and "never met a stranger" personality all work together to serve the needs of our community - both professionally and philanthropically.

Dr. Jenny Manders
Vice President
Dr. Manders, a Baldwin County native, serves as the South Baldwin Literacy Council Board of Director's Vice President. She is a faculty member at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL. Dr. Manders has a PhD in Child and Family Development from the University of Georgia. She brings a wealth of knowledge from her previous career at UGA's Institute on Human Development and Disability. Currently, she teaches interdisciplinary studies at U.S.A.'s main campus and lives in Gulf Shores, AL.

Donna Watts
Board Member
Donna is the South Baldwin Literacy Council's newest board member. She is the current President of the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and has served in that capacity since 1997. She serves on numerous boards including G.U.M.B.O., Business Council of Alabama, Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama, and the Coastal Resiliency Coalition leadership team.

Sara Ann Wells
Treasurer
Sarah Ann first joined the South Baldwin Literacy Council as a youth tutor. She has an extensive background in accounting and joined the Board of Directors to serve as our Treasurer. She lives here in Foley, AL, with her husband, Leo.

Dr. Robert Williams
Board Member
Dr. Williams first joined the South Baldwin Literacy Council as a youth tutor. He is passionate about childhood literacy and loves seeing children reach their potential via education. Dr. Williams is a retired Veterinarian who spent his career working with poultry at Tyson. He has also been involved in Head Start - a program that promotes school readiness of children from birth to age five for low-income families. Dr. Williams lives in Elberta, AL, with his wife and SBLC volunteer, Chery.

Leo Wells
Secretary
Leo first joined the South Baldwin Literacy Council as a Learn-to-Earn tutor, supporting students working to improve their employability. He retired from a successful career in the corporate business world. He joined the Board of Directors with skills he picked up from working at companies including Google, Yellow Pages, and Google. Leo now lives here in Foley, AL with his wife, Sarah Ann.

Jan Taylor
Board Member
Jan is the South Baldwin Literacy Council's longest standing board member. She has served Baldwin County's literacy needs for over a decade. Previously, Jan has served as South Baldwin Literacy Council's Treasurer. In addition to her role here, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Swift Preschool Program. In her free time, she enjoys a great round of golf and attending Swift Presbyterian Church.
