The South Baldwin Literacy Council understands that each student learns differently. We work with each student and his or her parent(s) to provide an individualized tutoring program for academic, as well as, personal success.
YOUTH SERVICES

Summer Reading Camp
The South Baldwin Literacy Council hosts an Annual Summer Reading Camp "Around the World in 40 Books" to promote continued learning and to prevent "Summer Slide". This program is a six-week event offered in June and July.

Step Up to Pre-K Readiness (SUPR) Program
The South Baldwin Literacy Council offers preschool tutoring for children whose primary language is not English. Currently, this program is an in-school service offered through the individual school's reading specialist.

After-School Tutoring
The South Baldwin Literacy Council supports youth literacy by providing free, after-school tutoring services to K-6 students. Currently, tutoring services are offered in math and reading only.
Service Available at: The South Baldwin Literacy Council, The Ruff Wilson Youth Center, and The Fairhope Rotary Youth Club (Coming Fall 2023).

In-School Tutoring
The South Baldwin Literacy Council supplies volunteer tutors to various schools in Baldwin County. Students will receive tutoring based on recommendations made by the individual school's reading specialist.
Service Available at: Florence B. Mathis Elementary School, Foley Elementary School, Gulf Shores Elementary School, Gulf Shores Middle School, and Orange Beach Elementary School.
