Adult Basic Education Program

The Adult Basic Education Program is designed for students from a variety of educational backgrounds. Students receive individualized instruction in their subject area of need. Whether you have difficulty with reading, writing, listening, or math - our tutors can help you improve your skills.

Adult Excellence Academy

The South Baldwin Literacy Council's AXA (Advancing eXcellence for Adults) Programs help adults build the essential life skills needed to succeed in everyday life. Through classes in Financial Literacy, Digital Literacy, Personal Excellence, and Community Excellence, participants gain practical skills in money management, technology, communication, personal growth, and healthy relationships. Designed to be welcoming and accessible, AXA empowers adults to build confidence, increase independence, and create a stronger future for themselves, their families, and their community.

Career Advancement Program

The South Baldwin Literacy Council's Career Advancement Program equips adults with the skills, confidence, and resources needed to achieve meaningful employment. Through personalized career coaching, resume development, mock interviews, job-readiness training, and workforce skill development, participants are prepared for long-term career success. We also partner with local businesses to provide customized employee training, strengthen workplace skills, and connect employers with qualified, job-ready candidates—building a stronger workforce throughout Baldwin County.

English as a Second Language (ESL) Program

The South Baldwin Literacy Council's ESL Program is designed to teach English to students whose first language is not English. Students from all levels and backgrounds are welcome.

GED Program

The South Baldwin Literacy Council offers an In-Person GED program and an Online GED program. Unlike other GED programs, we offer personalized, one-on-one tutoring services that fit your schedule.

United States Citizenship Test Preparation

The South Baldwin Literacy Council offers individualized tutoring services and classes for students preparing for the U.S. Citizenship exam and interview. Students must be able to read, write, and speak at an ESL Level 3 or 4. Classes are taught in English.
