Adult Services Volunteer Social

The South Baldwin Literacy Council hosted an Adult Services Volunteer Social as a way for all of our Adult Volunteers to mix and mingle, make connections, and discuss opportunities to improve our students' learning! We discussed the "Ten Qualities of a Great Tutor" and enjoyed a wonderful meal. Our tutors are simply the best!

Florence B. Mathis Elementary Book Giveaway

The South Baldwin Literacy Council wrapped up the 2022-2023 school year with a donation of 150 books! Our volunteers work with children who are not reading on "grade-level" or are non-English speaking. Having books at home is a great way to continue to improve the literacy skills of these young learners!

End of the Year Carnival

The South Baldwin Literacy Council ended the school year of after-school tutoring with a wonderful Carnival hosted by JHS Bookstore in Foley! Students picked out books to take home, enjoyed storytime, played carnival games, and devoured delicious carnival-themed snacks! It was a great way to wrap up the year!

Alabama Literacy Alliance Conference

The South Baldwin Literacy Council had the privilege of attending the Alabama Literacy Alliance conference. It was an opportunity to brainstorm on how we can combine our efforts to improve the educational outcomes of students all across Alabama!
