SOUTH BALDWIN LITERACY COUNCIL

The South Baldwin Literacy Council partnered with the Orange Beach Library for our annual Snowbird Trivia Night, and it was a fantastic evening of fun, friendly competition, and community support! All proceeds from the event go directly to benefit the South Baldwin Literacy Council and the Orange Beach Library, helping us continue our missions of education and enrichment in Baldwin County. A special thank you to the local businesses who contributed to our Pick-a-Pot prizes – we couldn’t do it without your generosity! And the winners are… 1st Place: Ambassador 1 and 2 secondly 2nd Place: Beerspiration lastly 3rd Place: Curren Events! We hope you can join us in 2025!

The South Baldwin Literacy Council has partnered with Foley Highschool to launch an incredible expansion of our already thriving English as a Second Language (ESL) Program.

The South Baldwin Literacy Council celebrated all of our 125 volunteers with a Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon at Wolfe Bay Restaurant. We were able to provide services to 1,412 youth and adult students! We also were able to put 14,243 books in the hands of our community and 19,896 volunteer hours were logged! 2023 was a HUGE success.

The South Baldwin Literacy Council hosted its Annual Polar Express event at Foley's Heritage Park partnered with the Copper Kettle TeaBar. Dr. Robert Williams, a loyal tutor and board member, led a night full of wonder by reading The Polar Express to an audience of over one hundred students and their families. Even Santa and Mrs. Claus got an invitation! Each student received a beautifully illustrated edition of The Polar Express to take home to enjoy with their families for years to come.
