Brett Robinson Health and Lifestyle Fair

The South Baldwin Literacy Council was excited to participate in the annual Brett Robinson Health and Lifestyle Fair, an event dedicated to promoting wellness, education, and community resources to over 600 employees and their families. This incredible gathering offered a chance for employees to explore local opportunities that benefit both their personal and professional lives. Our teamKrissy and Annette—had the pleasure of meeting with many individuals interested in our GED prep, ESL programs, and Youth Tutoring services. We also gave away over 300 free books to help promote literacy and a love of reading across all ages!

2024 Annual Trivia Night Fundraiser

The South Baldwin Literacy Council held its annual "Trivia Night Fundraiser". This year's theme was "Your Favorite Children's Book ". This fundraiser is always a hit - 8 rounds of trivia, a live auction, a silent auction, and more! All of the fun goes straight back into the community through literacy services provided by SBLC. The SBLC staff dressed as Alice in Wonderland! It was a beautiful night to raise money for literacy in Baldwin County.

Summer Reading Camp

The South Baldwin Literacy Council held Summer Reading Camp in three locations this year! Our Foley Campus was held at Florence B Mathis Elementary in June. Our July campers were at the Fairhope Rotary Youth Club and at the Ruff Wilson Youth Organization. During this summer camp we explored "Around the World in 40 Books" visiting all 7 continents, 9 countries and reading 40 books all in the course of our camp curriculum. We gave away 2,473 books to our campers!

Student Success Celebration

The South Baldwin Literacy Council celebrated our End of Year Student Success Celebration! We had 118 graduates across all of our programs! It was a very successful night!
