Foley Public Library's "Library Explorers" Event

The South Baldwin Literacy Council participated in Foley Public Library's annual "Library Explorer" event! Students spend a fun morning "travelling" around the world, stamping their passports, and getting goodies! A truly great way to engage students and encourage a love of learning!

East Cost Migrant Head Start Visit

The South Baldwin Literacy Council visited the East Coast Migrant Head Start Project's Loxley campus. We read to every class and donated 82 books to all of the students and their families. We want to encourage reading for all students and their families - regardless of the language they read!

Summer Camp 2023

The South Baldwin Literacy Council wrapped up an incredible summer season at our Annual Youth Summer Reading Camp. Each year, we travel "Around the World in 40 Books!" Our wonderful partner, the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, brings animals from all over the world for students to see. This is a wonderful activity for students to stay on top of their learning... while having FUN!

Foley City Jail Book Donation

The South Baldwin Literacy Council donated over 120 books to the Foley City Jail for inmates to improve their education while incarcerated! Reading is good for the soul.
